Uneven projects (place/2)

‘Place’ attempts to deal with ideas about heterochronicity, in that “we only know things through their differences,” and “in a world with a unique speed, time would disappear” (For an Ecology of Images, Peter Szendy, 2025, p.53).

This continuing project is an investigation into the time of place, buildings and light; between quadricentric obsession, and its complete negation; or more simply an investigation into the "differential of temporalities" (p.49). However, these ideas are only starting points for making, with distances opening up as the series progresses, to include confusions of mass & void, anthropofugalism, luminism, nostalgia and absence [working notes, 2025].
