There will be a pause in practice as I work to establish a new studio, converting a Victorian outbuilding into a workable space. I need to initially establish how far the stream at the rear rises during peak run off before any serious work can take place, and the history of this “shed”.
Practice & space have to be re-considerated, challenging what I have previously considered to be ultra-urban activities, and how the rural [interferers] [informs] [leads] [frustrates] new work.

Ballistic Baby | Dead Bells | Petards, in the Billiard room //
“Evil and the incarnate fiend can alone be master of this war, and no glimmer of God’s hand can be seen anywhere. Sunset and sunrise are blasphemous, they are mockeries to man, only the black rain out of the bruised and swollen clouds all through the bitter black of night is fit atmosphere in such a land”
The Somme exhibition explored contemporary responses to this infamous battle by the collective Acid Drop Copse, and was curated within a context of emerging audiences at the Honeywood Museum in Carshalton. Such interventions are not without risk, and one work from each series of Ballistic Baby and Petards was stollen towards the end of the show – a depressing thought given the context of this project //
