roadworks: ongoing
This series is about walking routes made for cars; about paths seldom trod. I think there’s something wasteful about these places, the built environment constructed for transitory purposes (future places & never present spaces). But how do these places feel, what do they see, and what do they experience?
A series also about bridges, trackways and cut-throughs temporarily reclaimed by nature - perhaps there’s hope here? But what about the wind-blown stories that pile up against edges, bollards and crash barriers, and other sites of narrative deposition?
And there is the ever-present exhaustion walking alongside speeding traffic - hearing the drone, thumps and wails of dreams, logistics and escapes (words in progress).
